Managing Diversity

The modern South African work environment is governed by a myriad of policies and legal obligations relating to Employment Equity, Affirmative Action and BEE. Outside of this legislative framework aimed at empowering individuals and building a diverse and equal society there is a real need for people to meet each other beyond their personal prejudice, stereotypes and the confines of their beliefs and past experiences.

Embracing diversity, building understanding and compassion within teams for each other and breaking down interpersonal barriers built on prejudice is an amazing way of unlocking potential in teams and in organisations.

This course is aimed at bringing individuals and teams closer together by building a greater appreciation for and understanding of diversity. This increases teamwork, productivity and team relations and contributes to a healthier organisational culture.

This (Building a better life of freedom, opportunity and prosperity) needs unity of purpose. It needs action. It requires us all to work together to bring an end to division, an end to suspicion and build a nation united in our diversity." - Nelson R. Mandela (1994)
