Ons Sunday 18 July 2010, 11 Library Leaders met at Lariba Lodge in Pretoria. The aim for this assembly was a weeklong intervention focused on addinge the following key skills to their leadership toolkit:
In the words of Ujala Satgoor, Programme Director: "This intervention is aimed at ensuring the future relevance of the profession, equipping leaders to play a powerful leadership role in their communities and acedemic institutions."
The 11 participants were hand picked from the first two African Library Leadership Academies. The programme was conducted under the auspices of the University of Pretoria and funded by the Carnegie Corporation of New York.
Treetops is proud to be associated with the Academy and the project. Empowered Library Leaders will be able to apply newfound skills to make the difference that will make the difference at their institutions."

On Friday July 23, the final assignments were presented to the panel of academics, colleagues and library leaders. Everybody was in agreement that participants were ready for their roles as future trainers, facilitators and change agents.
